swimming videos

Wanted to document some of the kids swimming skills. Lilly can swim farther than these videos show, coming up once for air. She can also do back floats for about 10 seconds. She can do the front crawl and breaststroke. We are still working on the back stroke. She can jump in, turn around and swim back to the edge without any help from anyone. Barrett can hold his breath under water, blow bubbles. He is comfortable on his back in the water. He can do "spidermans" along the wall and is working on pulling himself out of the pool independently. We are very impressed by both kid's progress this summer. We hope to have two little independent swimmers by next summer.

The boy and his toys

With Lilly back in school, Barrett and I have enjoyed more one on one playtime. Decided to take some pics of his most favorite things...

Back To School

Our Summer Fun Week

Jon took a week off work (an entire Wed-Wed. week) We were supposed to fly to Wisconsin for some much needed family bonding time however some kidney stones and their very expensive removal got in the way of our plans. So... we made the best of it, and enjoyed a week of fun here at home. Here is our week in pictures:
Wednesday Jon got to take Lilly to the summer movie program and they saw Cats v. Dogs then we went swimming that afternoon.
Getting crazy the first night....so excited for daddy to be home. (sorry for the sideways shots)

Thurs....Bounz House. The kids first time on all this bouncy stuff, made for bad pictures but some hilarious videos.Thurs. night...workin at the car washFriday...Took the kids to Tempe Beach Park Splash pad

Saturday....Dinner at Chuck E. Cheese

Monday...Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center. Best. Place. Ever.

Lilly could totally touch, but preferred to swim under water everywhere...hope we didn't freak the lifeguards out too much :)Tuesday afternoon we hit up Chandler Mall. Got a preztel and an ice cream and played with the crazies on the playground.

Wednesday it was back to our usual splash pad so we could show daddy just how much fun it is.

The Zoo

They brought in loads of snow for these Arizona kids to feel and play with. Each of the animal's exibits also had mounds of snow for them too. We got there early (7am) and left early too, before the we (and the snow) melted.

Playing in the tree

Wow, look at those poses...wow

Jon and his mini-me Spider monkeys...always a crowd favorite
