Barrett At 6 Months
Our B-man is half a year old already, can't believe we only have 6 more months until he turns ONE!!! 6 Months to 12 months is just so fun, they develop so rapidly. Barrett continues to be a good baby. Easy going and happy most of the time. Here are some of what Barrett is loving right now:
Playing with sister
Wrestling
Chewing on everything
He always goes for the remote or my phone
Grunting/yelling so loud and hard that it makes him cough
Sleeping in his crib (best thing ever!!!)
Sweet Potatos, squash and rice cereal
Otter Pops :)
Flirting with people (smiling and then pretending to be shy)
Micky Mouse, Nihao Kilan (sp?) and The Backyardigans
Pulling his sister's and mom's hair
Just being the cutest little cabbage patch kid ever
Barrett's stats @ 6 Months:
20.1lbs...90%
27in.......75%
Head is 50%
So now I know why my right bicep is huge(ha,not really) and why I am so out of breath when I run up the stairs with him in my arms...he's a 20 pound TANK!!!
We sure love our BUBBA!!!

6 month old Flashback
6 months old is by far the best part of the 1st year. Babies are so happy to just sit with a couple toys at this stage. Lilly was 6 months in December and I think we probably have at least 100 different pictures of her sitting in front of the Christmas tree. They are so easy to pose at this age and easy to smile too. Here are some pictures of both Lilly and Barrett at 6 months old...definitely sibling resemblance but also their own features too.

I have taken some cute pics of the kids lately and can't seem to send them via email to their grandparents so I am posting them here.

Big Boy Barrett
We all SCREAM for ICE CREAM!!!
Well, once again I have been able to return to my childhood through Lilly. Seriously the best part of having kids is watching them enjoy and get excited about the same things that made you giddy when you were little. So, for the past two weeks around 5pm (before dinner for us) we have heard and seen the ice cream truck driving around our neighborhood. I kept telling Jon that this was such a stupid time for the truck to come around because everyone is just getting ready for dinner. But last night we were sitting around the dinner table telling Lilly what a good girl she was for eating all of her dinner and what did we hear...that good old rag-time music that can mean only one thing. I sprang into action, running to the change jar to get some coins, ripping Lilly out of her high chair, grabbing Barrett and telling Jon to hurry up (he thought I had lost my mind). We ran outside just as the truck turned the corner and Jon was ready to pack it up and head back inside...oh no, thats not what you do...you chase that darn truck down. So Lilly and I ran, waving at the truck until he stopped. Hurray!!! Lilly picked out a push-pop ice cream treat and gave the man her "monies". It was so fun...I felt like I was 10 years old again...AWESOME!!! And Lilly thought I was the coolest mom ever!!!!

Wait just a minute....What happened to April?!
That was my thought this morning when I realized it was May 3rd. Where did April go? I think the problem is that for most of the month one or all of us were sick. The first of the month Lilly and Jon came down with the stomach flu. Then Grandma & Grandpa came to town and since they have left we have been sick with the worst cold I have ever had. I finally broke down and took Barrett to the doctor, since it had been a week and this was the first time he had really ever been sick. The doctor said it was just a nasty cold and might hang around for two weeks...YUCK!!! We have been on lock-down, no play-dates or anything and I am starting to go a little crazy. I think we have all turned a corner finally and are feeling much better, but we still have a pretty bad sounding cough. So we have been spending our time at home...watching movies, playing with blocks, squirt guns (daddy's favorite, he seriously told me "I just love squirting Lilly, I could do it all day long") playing grocery store, watching Barrett learn how to sit up and army crawl and watching Lilly turn into a pretty little lady. I just can't believe that Barrett is going to be 6 months, I am going to be 31 and in one month from today I will have a 3 year old...oh and summer is here!!
