Conference Our Way
We started the morning off right with some cinnamon rolls from the can because I don't know how to make the real kind nor do I want to know how...I can only imagine myself finding a reason to make them every weekend...anyway, we had cinnamon rolls and "Aloha" shakes(just pinnaple, bannana, yogurt and ice) for breakfast. Then it was onto the first session. The topics that I heard the most about during the first session were service, listening and acting upon the promptings of the Spirit, and loving one another. We had a little game for Lilly where she would listen for certain words, for example Jesus Christ, and then she would get to put a skittle in the jar. It was amazing how well this worked and even when I didn't think she was listening she would perk up when she heard those certain words. Even words we didn't tell her to listen for spoke to her, for example, one of the speakers said the phrase, "choose the right" and Lilly perked up and said "hey mom, just like you say!" or when she would here our family motto "do your best!" she would say "just like us!!". She loved it when the choir sang "I'm trying to be like Jesus" because she knows and loves that song. I am so grateful that I believed that my kids could be good and listen to conference because I think Lilly really did learn some things and I know that I did.
we set up their little play table front and center and just this change got the kids excited to sit and watch.
Lilly made a collage of things that make her happy...family, cats, dogs, flowers, the temple, brothers, cuddling in her bed.
Now I know swimming is not the best idea for a Sunday, but we were with family enjoying eachother and shoot these kids were so good for morning conference that we had to let them blow off a little steam before the afternoon.

Play Dates
Lilly was lucky and got to have two playdates this week. Same playdate...different boy. It was super hot this week so of course we were in the play pool. Blake came over on Wednesday with his mom and baby brother. The kids had lunch, played in the pool, ran through sprinklers and had popsicles. Barrett loves getting in on the action and thinks his sisters friends are his friends too...something I am sure she is going to love as she gets older ;)

Have you seen these?
I have something to add to my bucket list...ok, I don't really even have a bucket list but if I did I would want this in the top three for sure. Have you seen these "Flash-mob" things on youtube. They are so fun...just like a real musical in real life. If you know me, you know I love a good musical and I always remember thinking "man, if only people would just break out in song and dance in real life". Well, now they do!!! I will have to try and get one of the youtube videos on here so you can all see for yourself. Also, tonight after American Idol there is a new show called Mobbed and I think the whole idea is to do giant Flash Mobs and stuff. I can't wait. Now I am not a dancer or singer, so I don't really think I would love to be in the Flash mob, I just want to be there when one happens...how cool would that be?!! Anyway, just a thought...

Just call me Crafty Cassie
Ha Ha...well, I wouldn't go calling me that just yet, but I have had a little extra time on my hands since I am off work for a while. And I just love Easter and spring time colors. I recently found a book of paper at Michaels on clearance and picked it up not knowing what I would make with it. Then I made pennants for the Young Womens and love them...so I decided to make a pennant banner for Easter. I thought it turned out pretty good for not having all the fancy cutters and other scrapbooking stuff. I liked it so much that I made one for Lilly. I think we will keep it in her room, but for special days when we are celebrating something for Lilly I think we will bring it downstairs to show her how great she is. Anyway...here are the pics...I am pretty proud of myself.
